Dynamic working

How is everyone’s manager handling the dynamic working? My manager keeps insisting there’s someone in the office all 5 days of the connect week so we have “representation”, which seems like pointless face time. We’re a small team, so essentially 1 person goes in to an empty building on the Monday and Friday. We’d much rather all go in together Tuesday - Thursday, unless someone has a personal reason to go in a different day. She keeps telling us Abby is insisting that people go in on Friday’s, but you’re not connecting with anyone if you’re there alone.

The flex seating is getting annoying. It would be nice to have an assigned seat again.

I keep hearing dynamic working and connect weeks are hardly being talked about in most groups. My group, however, never stops shoving it down our throats, unfortunately. Morale in my group is terrible and everyone is looking to leave. Even people that go in get shamed in front of others during meetings for not being in if they’re not that day. So uncool.

You have a terrible manager if they’re insisting you come in on Friday’s just so she can say someone from the group is there. I’m guessing she’s the type who wishes we were back in the office full time.

So many inexperienced d-bags in positions they are not qualified for trying to make a name for themselves by cracking the whip.
Morale at an all time low for those who stayed on.

Seems to be the opposite in most other groups. If anything, you’re pressured to go in Tues/Wed/Thurs so you’re actually in the office when others are there. Unless people have a personal reason, I’d question why someone’s choosing to go into an empty office alone on a Friday. Do they have nothing to do, so they want to go in when no one else will see them?

This stuff is all a joke. It’s not about connecting. It’s about real estate, micro managing, not caring enough about employees and being stuck in old ways. We have just been told so far any 3 days on the certain week. I’m sure it’ll get more strict over time, requirements will increase, now come in for this training or that meeting, etc. Have no interest in going back, especially with record profits, gas prices right now, etc.

The pattern with Abby is she tends to come up with a lot of d-mb ideas
