Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Voluntary severance would be ideal

Voluntary severance pay. Wouldn't that be ideal? In this way, all those who are sick of this company and aren't feeling productive would leave in a nice way. On the other hand, jobs would be saved for those who really care about work here. I don't even think that it would be bad for the company, if we look at the wider picture. Too bad it's not an option.

I concur, if I was offered one I'd take. I've been demoted and my pay has been cut. I now make the same as a new hire of 10 days and I been here 10 years.

For those that want to leave, here’s my suggestion:

Leave.

I heard from someone who was let go that I should ask HR if I was interested in leaving.

You’re full of sh-t. Freier takes the hard questions and attempts to answers them. No one else around here does that!

What should be done is SLT sends out an email asking for those who want a severance package take it.

This does multiple things

  1. it reduces the amount of layoffs and people can voluntarily be on their way
  2. it reduces the bad press of layoffs that happen each week. Dealers asking " how long until your number is called". Even vendors are feeling bad for us. Calling us " the uncarrier of unhiring"
  3. people are worried about taking on additional programs/projects knowing their jobs could be cut ( SMRA/MDM). Hence why they've been pushing lead programs and having little participants
  4. it opens up opportunity for those who want to move up in the company and not have to uproot their entire family.

But when you mention it to Freier on his call, he'll answer something about why French fries taste better with ranch compared to ketchup. Sad to see him dodge the actual questions people ask
