Verizon's larger corporate strategy sucks. That was the last point in the Fierce Wireless article a few years back. Sometimes bad decisions take time to erode a once great company. Tada, magically sh1tty results appear in 2022. I remember when we had a not so great quarter, our leaders would react, and react decisively, and we would get right back on top. When you put sh1tty people in positions of power, you get sh1tty results. What makes it more toxic, is sh1tty people who can talk a good game. Verizon breeds that culture. I feel bad for the good people that are left carrying the burden of a bad culture and bad decisions. And now, they will put pressure on expense to make up for revenue loss because of bad decisions. Oh salary = expense, so gear up and get ready for a RIF again. It’s like a bad dream repeating itself.
That INC article is prophetic. Yes we have a price vs quality issue but the reason we have that issue is because management is down to the dregs and mo--ns and on down the chain smart people got out.
No. This is the crux of Verizon's problem. They are no longer a place talented people want to work:

Verizon is boxed in a bit. Tons of debt, need to protect the dividend at all costs, and will be behind T-Mobile for most of the 5g era. It's not clear where the growth is coming from.
Time for the C-Level to demonstrate their brilliance. Earn your pay, get it done, or get lost.
