Wall Street want to see cuts. Jimmy has already chummed the layoff waters. Retirement eligible vs retirement ready is a big stretch for some. I don’t think the people leaders have the brass ones to do mass firings. Lawsuits would prevail. Volunteers first with some $$$ incentives then toss some years of service to bridge the 28-29 yr folks.

I sure wish I knew the demographics of the company. I suspect it will be hard to get the numbers they want.

It might even be 1st Qtr 2023. Many retirement-eligible are strongly considering retirement right now, as they know their lump sum pension is about to take a 20-30% reduction.

The company would be smart to see how many people leave by simple attrition, then assess the next step 1st Qtr 2023. Other OEM's are watching the same phenomena...
