Andy would have done this in his first year:

  1. Fired all the ELT whose cluelessness and selfish empire building led Intel down.
  2. Reached 5 levels down the org to the engineers on the ground
  3. Understood how Intel got to where it is over the last decade.
  4. Poach a Sr TSMC exec to lead TD
  5. Hire Keller back to lead design
  6. Cut all the businesses except core computing, graphics and networking.

Instead, Pat spent the year begging Congress for money.

"Poach a Sr TSMC exec to lead TD", well Kevin Zhang who went to TSMC back in 2016-2017 was leading AD(part of TD).

I think poaching has happened at both side..the actual work force and brand name take a hit from this.

No need for 5 and 6. In Pat's vision, Intel won't be making Intel-branded chips in 10 years. They'll just be making chips for everybody else.

Is it me or this is very ironic because it represents the microcosms of how people are promoted based on who they know and some other efforts totally unrelated to qualifications.

No one here is ready to take on Lisa Su.

He kniws exactly what is the problem but he preferred deferring this since culture is main point.
You have dinausaures in place for many years that needs to be wiped out.

Couldn't put Intel together again.
