All my colleagues are talking about layoffs and in general, there is a lot of nervousness. Is there anyone at all who can feel safe? I know you will say that no one is ever safe, but still, which jobs do you think will be least affected in the case of layoffs?

Don't be fooled, they are looking to leave major hubs in exchange for cheaper wages.
They have 3 times as many people needed in mortgage originations CCS-IW- HLA) Transfer out or start applying for other jobs.
What location were you let go from? When? I hate the unknown.
It’s is true about diversity but I will say there is one preferred group. Unfortunately I was what they now call the wrong minority. Meeting all my metrics exceeding the preferred group but was shown the door. Let’s just say with first hand knowledge dr-g testing would eliminate the low performers easily.
I am starting to look for jobs now just in case.
If we do in fact have a major recession there will be layoffs and job losses across all companies and industries. Prepare ahead of time just in case.
If you are minority, then you are safe. Black lives matter, right ? Just sue them for being racists if they lay you off. Easy
I don’t know as I am not worried about layoff since my side hustle is enough to cover my expenses and this firm is just for me to ki-l time so if the firm goes bankrupt, I couldn’t care less lol
You are safest if your area is able to capitalize on increasing interest rates with demand in that related product and or service. I would look toward the next fed meeting June 14-15 and before the end of the second quarter to hear from leaders.
Diversity and Inclusion related jobs are the safest
