Last year around august our downtown motor bank was closed and our lobby was moved to another building near by we lost so many commercial accounts and customers are barely finding us after a year. Yeah, everything is moving to the web. I like some of it, some not so much.
But your branch was empty last August because of some big worldwide event, what was that again....
Oh yeah, the pandemic, which was the cause of the drop in gas prices for awhile, becuase less people were commuting and supply and demand is a real thing.
@1ila at this point, if the internet ever actually "goes down" it'll be a societal collapse and cash will be the least of your worries

No one under like 60 is going to a branch in 2022, get a real job.
Cash is freedom until you go shop/visit places that no longer accept cash.
Be nice to tellers. They are the basis of this company.
Physical banking will continue to shrink but we'll always need physical banks.
I am getting cash in banks, I often go over the limit, I ask them for certain mix of notes (10s, 20s, 50s, 100s)...
People underestimate cash. Cash is freedom.
I've been inside a bank twice in the past 15 years. Once to do a wire transfer, the other for a temporary debit card when I lost my wallet.
I like going to the bank. Just make sure to be able to solve my problem.
Downtowns are dying out. Tech heavy downtowns (e.g., San Francisco) will be more affected as literally everyone moved out. I was in SF downtown the other day and it was so easy to find street parking. Now imagine that...

And then we are getting coached again and again to talk to people about digital products they aren’t interested just helping the company displace our jobs !
Sorry but no one is doing in person banking except the inept and dinosaurs that can't figure out digital. Please find a new job.

In-person banking is a thing of the past... I would start looking for a new job!
