Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Risk in moving from BofA to another big bank at present time

I'm still debating whether it is a good idea now, with impending recession, to move to another big bank. I will appreciate any advice.

If the Godfather isn't protecting your job, then part amicably and go work for another mafia. Otherwise, these capos will cut your job in a heartbeat without batting an eye, regardless of seniority, experience, competency.

I’m sure Bac is aware of the 60 week packages and since they’re so cheap would rather do anything in the world besides letting you go. I guess it’s something to consider but shouldn’t be what holds anyone back. Especially if you’re leaving for more money, hybrid work etc

I too switched to Chase 2 months ago! I can tell you my job feels very safe, and I’m so happy I switched over.
The culture is so much less “corporate” and more just focused on getting business done, without all the drinking the kool aid and but kissing.

The only con I would say is that my branch (I work in retail banking as a manager) isn’t as nice as my BOA branch. It seems BOA keeps their branches much more pristine and modernized; as my new chase branch is very out of date (but what do I care, I’m happy with the money going into my paycheck!) Best of luck.

I switched to Chase 4 months ago, best move I ever made. Ton of pros the main one being money.
