Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Is everyone back to campus?

Heard not everyone is back. Is this not the case? How do you avoid coming back to campus and what days are people working remote? Do most teams have a standard?

If you're so desperate to not be on campus, just get a different job ... outside of Nike.

Is there a way to get into being part of the remote pilot? How did those people get selected?

Some people aren't allowed on campus because they have a vaccine accommodation from HR and others are part of the remote work pilot.

There is an official HR route to get an exemption to not come back into the office if it's due to reasons of being high-risk for Covid. I tried and got rejected. Was not able to continue to work from home. Quit and found work elsewhere.

Official policy depends on where in the company you work. Also, a lot of WHQ are under a "remote pilot" allowing them to be 100% remote. You would know if you are part of this program as you are notified explicitly. Many teams at WHQ are required to be on campus, Tue-Wed-Thu. However, many of those teams showed upnthe first week and decided as a group to not work on site. So they just don't show up. Many VPs and Sr Directors who are supposed to be on campus just don't show up. So they set the example for their teams.

It's a mess and people who work for rule-followers who have been going in are very angry. It's a total pain trying to get work done.

Ask you manager, for the person claiming to be a new employee. Team specific: some teams are at the office throughout the pandemic 5 days a week.

What’s the official policy?

Lots of teams that are supposed to be back are being more flexible than official policy.

So you can just choose to not go in? I’m asking specifically for Nike not random opinions of people who don’t actually work there. I’m new and trying to figure this out.

Just don't go in? If my remote work was exemplary for the past couple years, it should be good enough for the foreseeable future and beyond.

Best way to avoid coming back to campus... Quit and start your own business.. I did and am wildly more successful for it.
