Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

What is the realistic value of XOM stock?

I don’t want this to turn into a big debate about the stock value. To be more precise I want to find out why people claim this offer. I have heard the statement that XOM stock is overvalued multiple times at work and I see some people make the same claim on this board, yet the stroke remains stable. Why do people think that some sort of big drop is imminent?

I only know my 401k has no EM shares as of last Thursday night.
It's all in the timing.

Real share price: floating around 60. Including inflation.

I'm looking to accumulate near the bounce to maximize future dividends. Anything above $100 will cover all my price points. Consensus is ~$120.near term as the previous poster said.

7 to 10 times future cash flow (EBITDA). The problem is no one can forecast this because no one knows future pricing and margins and no one knows asset sales price and timing.

If investors spent time as an XOM employee, they'd sell faster than an XOM plant catches fire.

$120/share based on $70/bbl. So share should rise over time from current price.

I can’t say. That would be insider trading.

Add up the present value of future cash flows. Refineries are not worth much more than the crude and products in inventory, so all of XOM’s share price comes from upstream. Do you think Guyana and Permian are worth what the market prices XOM at?

Agree with @yvh, you're in the wrong place to ask. But since you've done, here goes my two cents. It's all about crude prices, plot XOM vs WTI or Brent on the long run and you'll see. So ... Those saying XOM is too expensive are the ones believing crude prices will drop soon. That's up to your research and guessing to agree or not.

You'd have better luck with this question on energy investment forums. People on this site are influenced by a negative perception of the corporation due to poor treatment. The majority of the stock trading and price is going to be dependant on the emotional response of investors, not the emotional response of employees.
