Yes, we are profiting from high gas prices that don't have to be this high at this point. There's nothing wrong with that. We're a corporation and our job is to make money. That's what we're doing. But please, stop denying that it's happening. Stop clutching your pearls as you exclaim "how dare they!" when we all know it's true. There are few things I despise as much as hypocrisy, and EM seems to be overflowing with it.

It's nice to finally see good returns after some dry years. I don't remember anyone having much sympathy when we operated at a loss, but, still operated. The US President didn't offer to subsidize operating costs because we were still providing a public service. I also don't remember anyone ever complaining about the cost of annual subscriptions to Microsoft Office. Cut them in half and Microsoft still has plenty of money. Maybe they have optimized the pricing based on consumer demand and reaping the benefits of zero competition. Must be nice.

If you believe we somehow control the price of the products we sell (crudes, product, chemicals) - we don’t!! The only thing we control is costs. The market sets the price for the products we sell.
We’re not gouging anybody. This is a cyclical business and we’re in the bo-m phase. That’s all this is. No hypocrisy.
Environmental Social Governance.
The error is thinking that it’s all about making money. Profits over people, the environment, and society is never a good thing.
It's one thing to raise prices to cover costs and another to not only cover costs but pay off all your debt AND still have record profit.
It's going too far. and we will ALL pay for this greedy corporate attitude.
So…
You don’t see anything wrong with needlessly gouging the public while waging a disinformation campaign designed to assign the blame for your actions to your political opponents?
What Exxon is doing isn’t capitalism. It’s something else.
"We're a corporation and our job is to make money". Money for the corportation or ourselves?
Exxon has no issue making money from oil. Yet they give themselves top dollar at the expense of their employees. Layoffs, cut benefits, self promotion, more work etc.
May you should take back on drinking the koolaid and realize the stuff you drinking ain't red. It is brown. But given the amount of brown nosing I guess you do know
