I was laid off 1+ year ago and have checked this site almost daily in the time since. It took me until today to realize that I’m finally ready to let go of the anger (and pain) that resulted from the event.
To all of my fellow FORMER colleagues still visiting: Say goodbye. Delete your bookmark/favorite and don’t look back. This site isn’t toxic in itself; rather, it is cathartic after the jolt to the gut that you experienced after being told that your loyalty and devotion didn’t mean anything…but that catharsis only lasts for so long. Eventually it will be the last thing holding you back from moving on.
To all of my fellow colleagues: Don’t listen to the former employees, we will only make you jaded. Visit here and BS about the way things used to be, the way they should be, the way they should be; but remember that in this capitalistic world, nothing matters to them. LEAVE. that’s all you can do to change things. F*g LEAVE…or do the base minimum until you get the severance you’ve earned. You deserve it.
For what it is worth, believe me or not…the market is (or at least had been) great. I make over 20% more than I used to at BAC in a completely different field. Learn how to sell yourself in an interview because that is ALL THAT MATTERS.
Enjoy sh****g on me; I don’t care anymore and it will make you feel better…but at least remember what I’ve said…because it has all been true.
