Trust in leadership

I'm trying to remember when I lost confidence in our leadership. In fact, I wonder if I ever trusted them at all. That mistrust is tiring. It is tiring to constantly think about what they will do next in order to squeeze out employees and satisfy their greed. Can you remember when you lost trust in them?

I didn't lose trust in the "leadership" because I never had trust in them to begin with.

I lost confidence when leadership announced that we were the Apple of the industry.

For me, I would say it was when Rob Gillette was called out on a lie about re-org resulting in fewer VPs in a Tempe town hall meeting. The brave employee providing tangible evidence was made a "former employee" within days. Gillette left HON not long after and proceeded to torpedo First Solar and subsequently Servicemaster, both of which found reason to kick him to the curb. He also single-handedly ki---d the ASU engineering intern program. The senior leadership that allowed a guy like Gillette to wield the power he did made me lose confidence in the company as a whole, but I hung around because I was so many layer removed from the guy.

For me it was when you had this clown running ISC...he came.in and just made a complete mess of everything and backlog spiked to almost $1B dollars....then this guy not only doesn't get fired, but he gets PROMOTED. Now he's doing the same thing as the president of aero. His policies of just cutting till there's nothing left to cut, hiring sicofants and then firing them later while protecting his friends in the ALT good ole boy club have really done wonders for AERO. These days there's zero confidence from me, although it is amusing to watch the entire company disintegrate under his watchful eye.

Three years ago when EEI was rolled out. Managers were not allowed to speak of EEI to the staff, but managers entire performance was going to be based on squeezing out 10% overtime from everyone. HR was complicit in the deception. Worse case of employee abuse I had ever seen.

Cote's last few years I could see a big culture switch. The campaigns: Future Shapers, etc were funny. Then wonder boy (DA) got the gig and the place became a nightmare. I grabbed an early retirement layoff offer in early 2020 and split. I'm just getting over my Honeywell PTSD. Stress is when you have to tolerate someone when EVERYONE knows they deserve to be punched right in the mouth.

Lost trust...... Hmmm,,,, tough one.... 2005 when the Aerospace Re-org occurred. 3000 Engineers were let go because Honeywell didn't receive the prime avionics contracts for the 787's. Yeah that's when it happened for me. My job was eliminated because the project I was working on was (Re-scoped). If you ever here that word, assume your job at the Big H is gone.
