Meeting with my new VP, and here is his answer to the question of when the company will offer competitive pay vs the industry: go take that industry job with the higher pay. That is a realistic answer, don't expect this company to do you a solid and just pay you more, not going to happen.
I have 10+ years of service, worked with some competent and intelligent people. While technology (network and IT) has evolved and simplified, the oppressive bureaucracy gets worst year after year. The management method hasn't changed since the 90s, when the web was new but senior management still knows best, younger folks have to ask their parents about this era.
Do I have marketable transferable skills? How to explain to hiring managers that my best results was to navigate this land of oz while protecting the integrity of the work with my hands tided? I may have better luck becoming an organizational psychologist.
