Go sweep the cable vault or run some jumpers. Organize your desk and inventory your paper clips. Perhaps do some dusting.
Be sure your tennies are tied and your hands are moisturized.
And Mr. Mensa, many outside techs, myself included, indeed do have college degrees.
We just prefer to be less feminine and like our OT.

We don't go down to the cable vault except to do the OSHA required inspection of fire extinguishers. Rarely do we "run some" jumpers. Copper is almost completely dead. Copper utilization is about 7% from the peak. The largest customer for that remaining 7% is, wait for it, AT&T. We use about 20% of the remaining copper circuits.

Do you have a problem with women in the work force? You might need all that OT to pay for your 2nd or 3rd divorce. Your lady was getting "satisfied" while you were fixing a copper "outage". Not saying it is right, just know that it happens ALL THE TIME.

I am craft, a CO Tech. There are jobs that can be done remotely with a good Internet connection. I'm sorry if all you know is tip, ring, a short, or how to use a sidekick. Some people have more education than the minimum required by law. You can be angry at those folks that have more education than you, and get to work from home, but it will get you nowhere.
You people complaining about going back to an office wouldn’t last 5 minutes in my world. It must be nice to do your laundry on company time.

I'll go in early if told to go in and leave to work from home when it starts filling up.
This shared, drop-in space format is better suited for sales forces, not engineers. I need multiple big monitors, my own little think-tank space with storage for reference books. A “cool”, trendy workspace does nothing for me. If I am forced to go back, productivity will definitely suffer in that kind of space. Their choice; I’ll take the check & medical coverage either way.

These offices are no less safe than the home techs are required to enter. Curl up in the President’s basement if you need a safe space and let someone with courage and a spine have your job.
Crybabies are afraid of the office!!! Who cares if you are in the office or not!!! Business is booming and companies are making big $$$ after workforce moved to home offices. What is the reason we have to bring everybody back? Previous decision to create shared office space is to blame. Nobody liked open office and nobody wants to go back to that toxic and alienated office environment. I rather be home alone than alone with some strangers in the office.

I am at a point where I will be retiring this year. Plan on leaving around November. Return to Office is not happening!
