If you've got mouths to feed and new trailers to buy what would you do? The name of the game is to promote the most incompetent people that aren't looking, or have the capability, to overshoot your position. C'mon now, yall know this is the way.

OP, in your haste to brown nose the management, you forgot what everybody knows: keeping hard-working employees and getting rid of parasites is what every company does, except EM. Our genius “leaders” can’t tell the difference between technical value and sponsored free-loaders. The latter get automatically ranked high and kept, while technically able employees are forced out or leave in droves by themselves.
If you dare, go post your rubbish on LI. But there you’re not anonymous and you will live in infamy in the eyes of future potential employers, whom you will need sooner than you think.

Nope

Other companies do value technical excellence.

In ExxonMobil is irrelevant. What matters is diplomacy and making your supervisor look good.

But I thought tech was the next best thing and was far better than oil and gas. Getting rid of the fat in any organization is like cutting out a cancer.

The real reason for job force reductions is to pad the pockets of the CEO's. They make way more money than they will ever need. They are all just greedy ba----ds that don't care what their impact to society is.

The difference is that other companies are willing to admit it.
