Recall: Ranger Danger

And so the quality debacle continues…

Ford Motor Company has issued a recall for certain units of the 2022 Ford Ranger due to the possibility of an inadequately bonded windshield.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the windshield may not have been properly bonded to the vehicle during assembly.

The hazards: if the windshield of a 2022 Ford Ranger is not properly bonded, it could detach from the vehicle in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants. At this time, Ford is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to this condition.

Components: windshield.

Affected vehicles: certain units of the 2022 Ford Ranger that were produced at the Michigan Assembly plant between December 17th, 2021 and April 12th, 2022 are affected by this condition.

Number of vehicles affected: 24,321.

The fix: dealers will remove and reinstall the windshield to ensure that it is properly bonded. This service will be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner.

CarCar, sorry you are bu-t hurt when the media publishes recall notices. The point of posting is not to alert Ford employees but rather let the team know that our customers, current and perspective, are getting inundated with news about our poor quality and we are not doing anything about it.

This will come back to haunt you when BF needs to hold someone up as the sacrificial lamb of accountability. More track time in your future.

What PD and VO group is responsible for installation of windshields and moon roofs? My gosh already, has any of them been been disciplined over the consistent recall mess ups the past few years?!?!?

Let me guess, they all got promoted and are no long responsible? Totally embarrassing.

One of these after the other with this one affecting 24,000 vehicles. We have such bigger fish to fry than these point in time news flash recalls without a point or connection. These posts add no value because it's info we can find in 48,000 different websites. Just when I thought we were getting a respite from these. Same serial poster. Next.
