V Team,

As previously communicated, Verizon and the East unions have reached an understanding to extend the collective bargaining agreements through August 1, 2026. The company and the unions are documenting the understanding in signed contracts, which will be subject to ratification votes by union members.

We believe this extension is good for both Verizon and our employees, and will allow us to continue to focus on customers and growing the business without any distraction from collective bargaining negotiations in 2023. We appreciate that the leaders of the unions worked with us to achieve this extension.

Although this is not an exhaustive summary, here are some of the key agreed-upon terms:

Wage increases of 1.25% following ratification (in addition to the 2.75% increase already received in June 2022), 4% (total) in 2023, 3% in 2024, 2025, and 2026 with a potential cost-of-living adjustment in 2025.
A ratification bonus of $750.
Modest increases to medical premium contributions, deductibles, copays and out-of-pocket maximums.
Long-term work-from-home for those currently eligible to do so.
A commitment to hire at least 2,250 union-represented employees during the term of the extension.
Provisions to enable union-represented employees to perform certain work on 5G Home in the East footprint.
Pension band increases of 1.5% in 2023, 2024 and 2025 for those who participate in the pension plan, while those hired after October 27, 2012 continue to participate in the 401(k) savings plan on the same terms as non-union employees.
Separately, extensions for the respective wireless bargaining units were also reached.

We will keep you posted on this process.

It's not about reading the contract . You can't read something that doesn't exist. What these guy are saying is the new contract extension has new stuff to it . But it's not in print yet. It literally just happened a few days ago . So what they are saying is that they would like a representative of the union to layout or explain or post or summarize the new parts of the contract . It's been long enough for that !!

Agreed, everyone should read the contract that they have agreed to work under. However, paying for Union Representation should also mean that one should be able to contact their local rep and get things outlined, then be able to have an open forum discussion about the tenets therein along with their views on those tenets. If I ask my State Rep or Congressman/woman I'd like to think they can tell me what their view is of what they're fighting for so when it comes time for me to vote for my representation I can vote for someone who is aligned with my views...I think that's what 'Representative' is.

Read the contract instead of asking on a layoff board.

If I were paying union dues every month and the person who was assigned to rep me was not able to articulate in clear terms what they are likely going to ratify I'd be more than a little miffed. I really don't understand the CWA's version of 'representation'.

@1aee+1hy84hMq Punctuation is your friend not your enemy. I don't know if the two of you previously had a falling out but you may want to try and patch things up.

I always been big union pro attitude but seeing the way unions been in bed with company past 2 years im a bit uneasy !!Ya I mean i get the whole gonna get info to you but come on they only throw out work from home which dont affect field people I mean theres no reason at all they could not throw out there something about wages or time off or what the companies main points are like tech movement in exchange for cola just really shady that even reps have been held in complete darkness no input from members more of a take it or leave it attitude their banking on most old times okaying any POS extension if it guarrantee their lump and goes for the WFH people too the short timers dont care so much about working conditions or force adjustments or even wages at this point in their game the unions need to throw a bit more informal info out to us no harm unless its all bad that they wanna word it so it looks good

As much as I am pro union. I gotta admit. If you ask anyone in the union they are going to tell you that they have no clue. That is pretty annoying ! I guess we will all find out later this week .
