Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Good advice, but it makes me anxious

It is easy for someone who has already left Dell to advise others to leave this place. That's good advice, but unfortunately, it's not easy for everyone to get a better offer and leave this. I have already become depressed because I have been trying to leave for too long. If it was so easy, I guess Dell would have very few employees by now? It is especially not easy to leave now, when there is a hiring freeze in many companies.

I left Dell several years ago and mental health struggles while there can be a serious thing! Dell has an EAP program and there is nothing wrong with getting help and support (especially after Covid lockdowns and all this bs going on in the world). I had a hard time leaving until I got a solid plan together and completely changed careers but my time at Dell was worthy it was just time for me to go after a decade. You can do it too. Figure out your values, don’t be afraid if your plan takes time, the time will pass anyway, and don’t give up hope.

Why leave Delll? I would wait for the pink slip. Its going to happen, we are going to be in a recession or we are in it now.

Good reply, I'm curious also as to what position they currently hold that is so hard to leave.

But really OP, what have you tried so far? Tell us what isn't working in getting out of here?

I hear lots of companies are hiring, so where is the disconnect?

A lot of folks are looking to get out, what advice can you give in terms of what's not working so far?

Stop being a pancy. Should be happy you are not working in China. I guess Elon Musk was right by saying Americans like to “avoiding work” while Chinese workers like to “burning the 3 am oil"
