Feedback is a gift: 2022 Global Emp Survey

Anyone feel safe enough to provide open and honest feedback and not worry about manager repercussions?

This type of survey is a time s-u-c-k --- very likely will not get much credible input/responses, little sense in analyzing for Deep Thoughts and Wise Conclusions.

I've asked for the 401k match to come back on a per paycheck basis for the last N number of times. Pretty much giving up on this stupid survey, esp since we have the offshore resources taking over our work.

I used to complete it, but like everyone’s said, it doesn’t matter. Your responses go off into the ether. Senior ‘leadership’ probably drafted the ‘results’ of the survey before it ever started. ‘This time we’re really listening, and we’ll do something with your feedback.’ Yeah, and Lucy’s going to let Charlie Brown kick the football. I used to care, but ‘leadership’ convinced me that was a waste.

I'm just so burnt out and disgusted with this place that I don't care anymore. So I was honest in my feedback.

I’ve always been honest when I fill out the survey. 🤷‍♀️

I gave it. They retaliate, I will file a lawsuit. I’m over this regime. I’ve been here for several decades and this is the worst I have ever seen it. Senior management isn’t listening and creating a culture of fear and disengagement.

Anything you complain about will become a new “project” for the team to discuss and try to solve. In other words, meaningless, time consuming conversations and more work for you. How can YOU turn this around and be part of the solution? Ugh.

I was honest - some good, some bad but I used the comments section to back up how I have been feeling, never did that before and I didn’t hold back, the current area I work in is a cluster-f*** and there is no turning back in trying to merge lines of business and it will never work.

I know nothing ever comes of these surveys and it’s always spun to show themselves in the most positive light. But in 10 years with this company this is honestly the worst feedback I’ve ever provided and I’m hearing similar things from others. I did not add comments but my responses were 100% how I feel. This leadership team has ruined any shred of morale. Even when things weren’t great in the past I was always thankful for a good paying job that I didn’t mind showing up to every day. I can’t say that anymore.

Tl;dr: don’t expect anything to come of anything you submit.

Last time this survey came out almost our entire team left comments that all but named the most miserable person anyone would want to work with. She was the manager’s pet so he literally claimed to be shocked no one got along with her.

They put together small groups to gather “more” feedback and, to my stunning surprise, people let it ALL out! More and more and more examples of this woman screaming at people in meetings, berating them over IM, email, phone calls! Everyone knew about the screaming weekly meetings but none knew she was also targeting them individually.

Sounds bad, right? You’d think someone would step in and put this person on a PIP or get them to pipe down, right? WRONG. Three people left the small group since then and the manager tells everyone, including himself, it was for their own career growth.

I gave them. A gift but it won’t change anything. Nothing is addressed appropriately so nothing changes

I appreciated how with this one I was able to give favorable responses for my immediate manager, but strongly disagree on other statements. I am always honest in the surveys. We've come a long way about being asked whether we have a best friend at work.

I also know that nothing will come of the survey. They will compile all of the glowing reviews, and somehow any negative comments will disappear into the same place as town hall questions they don't want to answer.

Do the minimum. Give threes and don’t make any comments. If you just don’t do it, they will know that and keep bugging you. If you make any comments they will know who made them. Just get off their radar and don’t try to use the survey to make a point. It will backfire. Look out for yourself.

Don't do it!! It flat out states that it "is not" confidential. Look at the "conditions" for which they would give you up.......you actually can't say anything negative without potentially being outed and being contacted by a special investigator.

I so wanted to let them know whats going on in my area, but not now. But....they knew this, they actually "don't want" you to say anything. Soliciting feedback as they have is actually good window dressing for the regulators.

Is there a place on the survey to provide all of the details about my favorite work fantasy?

Scared to do the survey. Just like calling HR is not anonymous.

If course it’s not anonymous. It uses sso to log you into the survey lol. Complete the survey and then try to take it again, tell me your experience :)

I was honest but more about how tech makes it difficult to deliver for our customers and how DEI is not true as it’s promoting only one group of people

If it's like every other VOTT survey it'll be designed so that executive management can't be blamed for any of the reported issues. These surveys are designed to get us to throw our managers under the bus for the executives.

Any issue you present is likely going to be yours to solve, just like every other year.

If a manager has a minimum number of responses they can see the combined scores of the group and a list of the comments provided. They are not able to see the identity of who provided which comment, or even who took the survey at all. So unless you write something that can clearly be linked to you it should be pretty safe. If you have ongoing conflict with your manager they will probably assume any low ratings came from you regardless, but they wouldn't be able to prove it.

Of the commentary part, what do the managers actually see? They do not just copy and paste one employees whole statement do they? It’s definitely tough because I think there is legitimate feedback that should be relayed. It is just kinda sad people are scared to relay the feedback due to repercussions.

I was just saying the same thing to my boss. I was candid. I did leave a comment at the end about Teamworks changing the focus on Sr exe's- it's changed from team members.

I honestly don't know. They need to see some real feedback, but I'm reluctant to do the survey. "Your responses are confidential" is not the same thing as anonymous.
