Seems we always get a big one in August. Anyone hear anything?

Looks like another August layoff rumor fail. We should celebrate AugustTeenth in honor of the end of layoffs after August 2018. It does seem to mark the end of an era.
The last August Layoff was in 2018 under Charlie Scharf and it was a big one. Nothing like that has happened since.
There are a lot of things to dislike about working here but worrying about layoffs is not one of them. In truth the major reason to stay here as a boomer is the generous package. I’ve about given up though… it seems that you really need to be an obvious slacker to get displaced.
Attrition is not the same as layoffs. Attrition is a measure of the positive people who decided to stop whining, revise their résumé, find and leave to a better job. Whiners never leave, and never move ahead due to a low work ethic.
Where starts these rumors and why? For the last three years we’ve had both April and August layoff rumors and not one significant layoff. There are a few terminations with cause to people whom the Bank actually treated more than fairly with generous packages. We still have within 1 to 2% the approximate same workforce as we had in 2018.
This place has offered unbelievably great job job security for at least 4 years.
Too many have left to layoff more. This layoff is Fake news
They laid off the reconciliation team the past month giving packages roughly 300 people in my area. NYC just released several higher clearance staff as well 400 to count before my departure. They brag about the new hires but none are in ny.
To the poster who stated they were laid off yesterday. Can you share which location and department you were in and if you heard or any others in any other department in your site.
I got laid off yesterday. They are moving everything to Manchester and india
Started today MDs let go. New ceo, quick way to show stock improvement, three days min a week in office starting September.
They started today, 8/8
There’s been a lot of attrition. Layoff rumors in August are just that… rumors. We are hiring desperately to replace lost employees.
You can be assured it’s this month before TG exits. RV will be able to build his own organization and he’ll be able to deflect and blowback to TG. “These were his actions prior to departure”.
I’m predicting significant changes at least in certain areas of technology.
I really don’t think so I’m August. We haven’t had a significant layoff since 2019, well before COVID in when we stopped layoffs for good. Why would we start them now after all of this time and attrition?
list prepared in NYC in asset servcing tech
Monday August 8
why let people go instead of calling them back to the office and let them quit voluntarily and no severance...no brainer...so no lay-off anytime soon until maybe q1 2023...you're welcome for doing the thinking for you,!!! Signed Charlie
if you're getting let go in today economy then you probably don't deserve to have a job. business are crying for workers...just sain...
Haven’t heard anything but they should get rid of useless middle managers that do nothing but schedule unnecessary meetings.
We caught a break as we skipped all three Augusts in the Todd era. It’s probably due.
August 15th
I’ve heard multiple rumblings of “August” but no details
I hope my manager gets canned
