I see these types of posts now and again and scratch my head. Ending PS contracts are NOT a reduction in force if that's what you're implying and are NOT counted against headcount. Countless posters get this confused and don't understand the classifications. Purchased service dollars come out of the same bucket of money the company could use to buy widgets. It's a contract for an agreed upon service and not in any way shape or form an employment arrangement. We end those all the time and have, let them expire, replace, etc. SMH

As one of the great philosophers said; “This has all happened before and will happen again”

6; Battlestar Galactica

When I started w/Ford in 1985 we had 35% of the Market, fully paid healthcare, dental, vision, hearing and COLA along with a nice 30/out Pension with full benefits as well in retirement

I spent 33 years with Ford/Visteon/Ford being transferred in/out and back and Forth and have half my 33 yr pension at age 65 as I I watched Ford continually decline in Market Share and prestige over those years. I’m Also a Ford Retiree with absolutely no pension /Benefits from Ford except APlan

Don’t loose sleep; my recommendation…. Move jobs, become more
Valuable and save for a rainy day. Dont assume the Company cares one bit about your “long term” good. All my leadership cared, but the Company is meant to survive. It’s a mistake too many Ford employees suffer from, including myself. I watched Engineers work at Fast Food restaurants trying to make the house payment in 1980. It always stuck in my mind.

More agency IT cuts occurred/occurring today Dearborn and India. India agency counterpart got the tap at end of her work day. Long term Dearborn contractor just got the tap, he starts work at 5 am so it is end of his work day also.

Eh, this board is lies, rumors, and innuendo. I believe that corporate pigs come here purposely to spread false information and to keep us all in the dark. This board is wrong way more often than it is right. Anything posted about "future" happenings should be taken with a huge grain of salt. Further, it is obvious that a lot of the "what has happened" is made up and cr-p too.

The truth is that 4000 job cuts have already happened. Between the April Model e layoff, PD had 700 a couple of weeks later. Over a 1000 PS contracts were not renewed. Then there were agency cuts in several departments, and finally there was action taken a couple of weeks ago in TSP (formerly ITO). So the number may already be closer to 5000 by now. ~3000 to go. (Again, take with a grain of salt.)

I also know that they are looking at cuts in China and India as well. An LL4 I know let that out of the bag. While mostly NA, all 8000 (when it is all said and done) will not be JUST from NA. Will the non-NA be 500? 1000? 250? No one knows.

Everything that is going to happen will happen. Everything that isn't going to happen, won't. Why stress about it??
