Not sure he would come back even if Intel dangled a crazy sum of money in front of him. Keller couldn’t get away from Intel fast enough. Put in his two years and then made up fake personal reasons for leaving. Can’t blame him, really.

He will be as ineffective as the last time he was there. Intel needs to clean house on the managers, VP's, and all the coasting IC's. Intel's problem isn't that they are missing a few brilliant technical ideas. The entire company is rotting and cannot execute. Execution requires a well functioning team consisting of hundreds or people in addition to politics that doesn't get in the way. This isn't a one person fix.

What will he do? Nothing but do another layoff to offset his hiring cost..he will not lead Intel to anything.

Intel needs engineers not management personnels.
