Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Bought what? Some of those buybacks should have gone to preserve them.

I'm a stakeholder. Multiple ways.
And maybe I've benefitted from the big buybacks that EM will even borrow money for.
Pardon my grammar, but couldn't at least 1 billion have gone to prevent the preventing of buybacks?
I no longer feel like the lowest watt bulb in the vanity mirror.

Save the Buyback money to cushion the upcoming downturn.

If EM keeps all those Billion$ In cash, then can buy out another oil company in next downturn to increase reserves.

Need to buy more reserves because cannot discover anything outside of Guyana.

Put money into savings, gold, silver, anything but purchasing XOM shares at peak price again.

Wait until the economy collapses and buyback XOM shares at huge discount.

That's the first thing I saw in the new BBB bill that I thought 'This could hurt my employer.'
The Stock BuyBack Excise tax.

And that's like twenty times the eliminated Hedge Fund changes.
All kinds of angles out there.
Lots of imagineers in the money biz.
