Both Verizon and T-Mobile just had cuts. It's only a matter of time before we follow.

Sorry to say that the bargained for groups that aren't busy will not be impacted by layoffs anytime soon! Doesn't matter that they're not busy today, it's tomorrow that T is more concerned with and wants to be ready when the time comes to ramp up business services! That's just the way it is and how T operates!
cuts are needed to help control cost since we are sucking at generating cash flow. Those groups that are not busy, that will change real soon with the reduction in workforce coming.
The last offer for bargained for employees in the west was in September 17th of 2017 and the off payroll date was October 22nd. There hasn't been anything since that time and not quite sure there will ever be again. T said it wants to grow the business and in doing so, you certainly need the personnel to handle the day-to-day operations. So, it'll be a mystery what T has up its sleeve at this time!

Cuts are coming
With the hiring freeze now in effect for bargained employees along with management, it seems inevitable.
Don't concern yourself, it will get busier over the next 3-5 months or so, at least that's what management keeps telling us! It seems like all these new contracts T keeps signing with customers, we're still not that busy for all the techs we have. The kicker is that T will hire more techs!
We are still driving around just to look busy. We had one job for 6 techs on Friday.
Zero jobs yet today.
Yep C& E was told under a major budget crunch, no ordering tools, on any non productive ticket time etc. might not get the number of units they want without OT at the end of the year.
To be honest, I'm surprised it didn't happen last year! Good luck to all.
