Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Is this option dead in the water now?

There IS still time for a voluntary. The 2021 VSSP was offered in July 2021. The deadline to accept was September 2nd and the last day worked was October 31. If they do a voluntary in 2022: It can be offered in August, deadline to accept can be October 1st, and last day worked November 30th. Still in time for a December 1st retirement date, for those that are retirement eligible. It's the right thing for the company to do after all this recent BS, NDAS and blatant lack of caring for employees. Do the right thing.

@OP
Just remember that you are asking the same company who after convincing those folks who accepted the VSSP also announced in Nov 2021 that they were ending Retiree healthcare as of Jan 2022. Note: As you have also pointed out this announcement was right after their last day of work in Oct. Without warning and long after anyone could change their minds.
Not to mention the sudden surprise many former Ford employees also received this past April. So if I were you I wouldn’t be placing my hopes on Ford treating us with fairness, like family, respect or any other PR buzz words that they like to throw around.

At that time, for long serving employees it paid 3 full months higher money to get let go, rather than taking the voluntary. However, recently the invol amounts have just been changed. They now match. Invol and vol now the same. This was not the case prior.

Curious with what those that did not accept the vssp in 2021 and were let go after the fact. Did they end up getting anything and if so, how did it compare with the vssp package?
