Life after sams

Hoe many 20 plus year associates have left sams? What was your life like after sams club working a new job? I see so many leave and then come back and lose every single bit of seniority and vacation time and pay. Is there nothing better out there?

I just left my position in the Backroom two months ago and took a job that paid less just to get out of there. I was there for 20 years and 1 month. I wish I had done this sooner instead of being so scared of what might happen. I have never been happier in my life both at work and home and heck will have to freeze over for me to ever return to this place. Stick it out if you have to, but if you’re just scared like I was, let it go.

When you see the writing on the wall...it`s time to leave...on your own terms. I was with that company for nearly 30 years. The first 10 years were great. Then a certain breed of people started taking over...then it was just ok. About 10 years later it was becoming unbearable. The crash during the late 2000's made it impossible to go anywhere else. Then it got slightly better. After about 5 more years when the managers had their minions (called team leads) make the calls, I certainly wasn't their type and I called it a day at that place. If you are their type and you are favored, you will be just fine. But after seeing the bad done to fellow associates and the shenanigans between management and associates, you simply leave on your own. I did and I couldn't be happier. In no way do I miss that place and in no way would I ever return there.

I am a 13 year employee, have gotten a new PT evening job. If it works out, I am gone. I cannot stand the way long time associates are treated. We just lost a 25 year plus backgoom employee. He got a much better job. What gets me is they are paying people more than the current employees. It is clear home office done understand the value of people with longevity. We have all the knowledge....
