It is unfortunate there just is no way to include information as to the background of a question. The survey company must charge per the word so they gotta squeeze it in as short as possible to save money.

The question on the last survey about "best friend at work" did not get answered overall, because most employees had no idea why the company was asking., or how it applied in the business world.

After that long ago change of fixing more feedback from managers which turned into now we have to write a mid year appraisal of ourselves in addition to the year end I was hoping everyone learned their lesson. That was long ago now and we will have action planes to solve our best friend at work and we didn’t get praise in the lart seven days problem.

Everyone welcome some forced bluejeans bonding sessions to make friends and give thanks to someone for what they did this week kinda like those awkward end or summer camp things. We will keep maling it woree till surveys improve got it?!

# of questions are short, else no one would take the time
Questions are intentionally vague to guarantee certain level of responses.

Its not totally anonymous, they group by your job title, reporting to a director, or manager, etc.......... so if you work in a small group it narrows down who said it. Also any unethical reports do go to Ethics and HR for investigation.

They only want positive responses anything less, then they have to put an action plan together on how to address those negative remarks. Dog & pony show.

If people knew the pulse survey was truly anonymous then the scores would be much lower. But their not and this is why the scores are typically very positive

In my years with the company, I personally witnessed HRBP's walk into leadership staff meetings, sit down at conference room tables and then proceed to spill their guts about complaints raised about some of the people sitting around those very tables. They did so apparently to show the leadership in those staff meetings that maybe they were their loyal HRBP's fighting on their behalf of leadership or for what reason I did not know. Those HRPB's disclosed details and they named names of people lodging complaints. HR can deny that scenario all they want but I have personally witnessed incidents like that happening. I lost any gram of respect that I had for HR after seeing that happen before my very eyes and hearing it with my own ears. They will deny, deny, deny but I know what I saw and heard. So glad I got out when I did. I hope the rest of you hard working employees get out and find something that brings you happiness. There is life outside of Verizon.

As usual, they survey, yes, BUT, they only ask the specific questions they want answered and they typically construct the two or three answer selections in ways so that they are receiving only those possible responses they want so they can continue to spin the survey results into even more propaganda. It is funny because whomever constructs the surveys REALLY have unimagined careers in POLITICS. They can blame Gallup all they want but the majority is not that stupid.

Heard what the questions are and have not bothered to respond. They do not want the truth from their staff, just gloss over questions to get good ratings.
