Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

There are too many reasons to leave

Almost everyone I know who left is now paid much more. However, raise is certainly one of the most common reasons why employees leave this place but it is not the only one. If an analysis was made of all the reasons why people leave BofA, I believe that the big surprise would be the percentage of those who did not leave because of pay, but because of some other things?

I left due to RTO policies. I was aware i was underpaid but wasnt really that fussed about it.

I can live with suboptimal pay, but not with getting forced to go to the office for no reason,

I started looking because I was asked to do the job of 2 people and was given a meager raise to do so. Felt completely burned out, and after many years here realized the cons completely outweighed the pros and it was time to exit. This place used to be tolerable for the cr---y pay- not anymore.

I finally left because it was pretty easy to find a new position, mostly remote, at a well known company (not a Bank) that pays 30% more with a guaranteed % of my salary as a bonus (the Bank’s “surprise” bonus is their leverage over us. Just give me a set amount of my salary, you can trust me to actually work I promise). Anyways, I took it in a heartbeat!

@3kgd+1i8lnUm3 I wouldn't have left if I got a 2%. Try 0%. Obviously the raise was wasted on you.

I left because of RTO and the abysmal 2% raise this year.

To be fair, I would’ve left due to the RTO anyway, despite the meager raise. That
Slap in the face just made it feel even more justified.

I left because:

  • It took a ridiculously short amount of time to find a new job in this hot job market (in tech)
  • They offered me 20% raise over BoA without any negotiation
  • With the new job offer in hand, I suddenly realized how underpaid I was at BoA
