Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Layoffs are done

At least for now. Nothing happened on Monday, so we can safely say it's over. Please stop scaring people with unfounded predictions that it's not over unless you know for sure. Your gut feeling doesn't count as a reliable source of information. Don't treat it as such.

RIFs don't happen on Mondays, always Thursdays of pay week. And more RIFs are coming as hiring freeze are in place. Expect one in Q3 in September. Sam's email didn't help morale either. HR just there to protect the company. The message she provided is bonkers. Don't matter how hard we work, you are not being paid is what she said.

OP, RIFs are never done in a Monday. Did you just start working here? It is always on a week of management pay week.

Layoffs have been happening at VZ for years regardless if the company is doing good or bad. At least once a year there is a layoff. So yea, layoffs might be done for the next 5 months

OP: how and where did you get the conviction to initiate this topic? This is the most juvenile question/statement. Are you playing all the adults in this forum as fools?? Do you have any factual answers?
