What have been the consequences for those who are still refusing to RTO?

I’m in GTO working in a tech role and about 14 people I know continued WFH after their RTO dates.

Their managers gave them a verbal warning, then they receive written warnings over email, next thing you know HR had sent them a “Letter of Education”, later they were all fired. None of them were able to get an exemption to RTO.

The Bank logs your badging into buildings so it’s easy for them to pinpoint you.

I’m waiting for the talk. I haven’t been going in but I know it’s coming. I am not the one to ask for permission.

I got an accommodation to continue to WFH for a year.

I have a great therapist and she filled out a simple 2 page form which I submitted and a couple weeks later it was easily approved.

Honestly, if more people did this in retaliation to the insanity of RTO, then they would have to bend to our will.

No one I know wants to return to the office but they’re all there 5x a week, hating their lives and miserable.

Podiatrist, dentist, therapist, social
Worker, doctor, chiropractor etc are all allowed to fill out the form, FYI

I'm in GTO and have to come in 5x week unless I have an approved exemption by HR.

I got a medical exemption, but others I know have still not gone back and no one has said anything.

The cost of gas, childcare, food (including any lunch options around the office) have all gone up so much.. I’d be broke AF if I went into the office currently. I mean, our childcare is $280 A WEEK now - and that’s just for the 3 days a week option! The world has changed, so I’ll wait for a severance as I start researching companies that respect their employees and allow WFH. I don’t mind sending my kid to the ridiculously overpriced childcare when I’m saving on unnecessary gas and food expenses going in the office.

I was told if I didn't come back on a certain date, I should find somewhere else to work so I requested a med accommodation

I have a friend in Treasury and Fulfillment in Charlotte and they were telling me that on their daily team emails they identify the people that are working remote for that day due to 'business continuity' -- like if the building were to catch on fire or something then management would know not to account for those people. Such a passive aggressive way to identify and call out those rebels working from home LOL. Aside from that, i don't hear much about any consequences for no RTO. I do think it's cr---y that GTO was approved for 2x a week from home while other LOBs were not. What's wrong with making it the same across the board for everyone? Oh right, we have to 'support' center city businesses. I'm legit about to not RTO because I can barely afford gas and monthly parking.

nothing yet, but they are on top of the list come November, or if retained, less likely to be promoted or get an increase in salary

There was no one around to defibrillate them.

From what I can see...NOTHING. you get a "talking to". Everyone does what they want BECAUSE there have been ZERO consequences.

If any. I'm asking because I'm too much of a chicken not to show up but I'd like to know what would happen if I didn't.
