I’ve been hearing that GCM will be hit. Does anyone know when?

Sorry, I just don’t think for a moment that that anyone in Global Client Management is getting displaced. For all of their flaws they are well connected, have contractual lucrative golden parachutes and cost more to jettison than to keep.
You’re really missing something here. There’s no way any H1b workers are being “trained up now to fill in”. You aren’t replacing Senior Relationship people with H1B Visa workers.
Goldman starts next week
Yawn… one day there will be another layoff but for now it’s been over 4 years since August 2018, the last real layoff which was under Charlie. There’s far more practical things to worry about day and night I’d you’re inclined to worry.
Is it true that huge layoffs will be 09/19? If so, will it be all departments?
Massive layoffs are a good way to get people to appreciate low wages (better than no wages), no advancement (better than no job) and a negative workplace culture (better than the unemployment office culture).
09/19 massive layoffs. Heard top down with major impacts on all teams.
Highly unlikely any layoffs happen in a group like GCM. And you can’t “train” workers for RM positions, there’s no SOP for that type of work, but I think that comment below is a joke anyway
Only H1b can fix the massive labor shortage in US. Bring highly qualified H1b to fill all of shortage TODAY
Late 2022/Early 2023
GCM to be hit hard. I’m hearing 2-3 % of workforce. Many H1b workers being trained up now to fill in. Many of them will accept morning glazes, so some will be assigned to that end. All in all, not a bad trade off for survivors. Chin up !! and carry on
