I just received my Recognizing You catalog for 25+ years of service. As God as my witness the Fingerhut catalog has better quality merchandise than what Verizon offers. SMDH

I got the Chinese handcuffs. You know the flex tubes that fit on your finger. Love em!
Middle management gets an email only if the manager even bothers - that's it.
I received an emailed certificate one week for 20 years of service and the following week my position was eliminated in finance.
I didn't wait till 25...I got the he-l out while I could still function on pills and not need a full time rubber room...get out while you can...we are the next Enron, WorldCom....etc
Hey now I got a pdf with my name on it via email with xx years of service. I was sooo touched by the heartfelt email that was never mentioned by anyone. Suitable to be left in my email and lost when we changed email platforms.
Corporate cancelled all forms for service anniversary recognitions years ago for middle management. Left it up to the manager to do something - which of course is NOTHING. You're lucky if you get an email or some staff meeting announcement.
Slight cut, two decent increases since then, now back up to where I was. Only bummer is very little paid time off. I do miss that.
So, you took a pay cut?
And you’ve got 35 years of experience?
When I left at the end of 2018 with 35 years of service, I didn't get a call or even an email from my Director. Just would have been a nice gesture. Oh well. And BTW there is life after Vz. I landed a job in the middle of the pandemic with better benefits and nearly the salary that took me 35 years to get to with Vz. We used to celebrate milestones, anniversaries, promotions and retirements. No one gives a cr-p anymore in this company.
Many companies got all pi---d off when they found the employees were selling their awards on ebay!
Only thing I got was a pocket kn--e at 5 years at Bell Atlantic. And that was 29 years ago. Now I get two things every anniversary: Jack and S—-
VZ treats us employees like mushrooms. They feed us cr-p and keep us in the dark.
Service award? I'm in finance and the only award I've gotten is a prevailing attitude that I should be grateful I have a job.
I didn’t know we received service awards, VZ despises tenured employees. When I left the company after20+ years, I didn’t even receive a courtesy exit interview.
I say go for the jelly of the month club. Best gift ever, it's the gift that keeps on giving, all year long.
I remember I had to just block them because their emails got annoying because there wasn’t anything Id ever want online and I was sick of constantly being reminded of it.
Go to the website link listed in the paper catalog itself. That catalog has just limited & featured items. The website has a much bigger and better selection. You have 1 year to redeem your gift and they keep updating, adding, removing, changing merchandise. You would have to keep checking back on the website link if you’re not happy with what’s available right now in real time.
I got nada for my 25th, one of the many many reasons I took the buyout, the stellar management they promoted was not to be believed
Wow, I didn't get anything when I hit 25 years; except the ability to add the badge to my profile.
@khv+1iCRWDQb- no, you're right. That's reserved for the corrupt CEO and his flying monkeys.
Always take the free meal… it’s the best thing they’ve got.
Verizon gives there emplyees cheap a-s gift for service time, like all that stuff in the catalog is garbage ,its the same catalog from 30 years ago...lol
George Clooney still uses his flowbee. Yes, they are still available at Fingerhut. You can get your Flowbee and build your credit back at the same time.
Get the flat screen TV! That's the best gift. You can also go to HR and request an alternate gift. They can enroll you in the jelly of the month club. It's the gift that keeps on giving, all year long!
Fingerhut? How about a flowbee? Those are soooo hard to find!
I cannot.
I take that back. I SO CAN.
@nvg+1iCRWDQb For managers they did, long ago.
I thought the company did away with service awards a long time ago
Ungrateful much? Just pick something and move on. It not supposed to feel like you just hit the lottery for $2B.
Don't use catalog, I once compared items on there to stores and much more money anyway. Just put it back to payroll, you get taxed either way.
