Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Beginning of the End

AT&T has gone full circle and is same condition when C Michael Armstrong wrecked the company. Failed mergers and crushing debt, The debt anchor incurred on the failed mergers could have been used on expanding the fiber network.

The company is stuck with $136 billion of dead money and has to spend $20 billion a year in capital expenditures.

There is no info. on how much is going out the door to prop up DTV.

Look for significant layoffs and sell off of parts of the company.

With Amazon getting into web services it could absorb AT&T and have its own network.

"AT&T is still a viable company, but not just in its current form. It will be sold of in parts. Perhaps Amazon taking the Fiber portion and Apple taking the wireless. That’s very doable with those two companies. Both could self finance the purchase with cash on hand."

No well run, well managed company is going to buy any part of Toxic-T. Amazon, Apple, and Elon is not stupid enough to bite on Toxic-T. Toxic-T has too much debt. Ununionized companies do not want any unions or the many mismanagers dolts. While some other stupid company might bite on the good part(s), they will want a fantastic deal without all the dead weight or debt or other obligations. The debt will be left to some Toxic-T shell company that will go into bankruptcy.

The only good thing - that will trigger the Stink's Golden Parachute and he will finally leave, never needing to work again ever.

These CEO cats let their ego get the best of them. Armstron, Whitacre, Stephenson, and Stankey, all gambled with AT&T's money and lost. Their arrogance precedes them, they sure are much more conservative when it come to using their own money to gamble. T needs to hire a humble, confident, conservative CEO next time around, if there is a next time around.

"Apple taking the wireless." Yes! And PepsiCo will take a box delivery of UPS. Omg, what experts are in ATT. No wonder that the company declines.

It’s going to be hard for AT&T to compete with a bloated workforce and an anchor of $136 billion in debt. It will be taken over just as SBC bought it out, however in the third iteration the dead weight is going to be cut!!

AT&T is still a viable company, but not just in its current form. It will be sold of in parts. Perhaps Amazon taking the Fiber portion and Apple taking the wireless. That’s very doable with those two companies. Both could self finance the purchase with cash on hand.

The issue with SBC (at&t) is that since divestiture - SBC (at&t) promoted internal flunkies Whitacre, Stephenson, Stinkmonger instead of true Leadership and those guys were nothing but political hacks. These same hacks surrounded themselves with the same type. Requirements were the ability to say yes yes yes, play golf, point fingers and stomp the foot. SBC (at&t) has been Woke since late 1960's promoting untouchable - unqualified women & minorities and same white males who play good golf with a penchant for brown nosing and blaming others for failure and taking credit for others hard work. The days here are numbered. Hasta la vista baby!

I agree with this one 100%. If you believe the bs spouted off by the company then you get what you deserve.
