Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Future of Server group

With Sunil retiring, is the server group in trouble. Will there be reorgs/layoffs soon?

Intel is finished in Server with their poor execution and inferior technology.

AMD is going to take market share for another three years and the tipping point is past, FUBAR

All those Sapphire Rapids design/architecture leads showing in the ISSCC 2022 paper on this new Xeon processor introduction may need to consider to quit if Intel is not firing them for the biggest number of re-tapeout, far worse than the initial notorious 10nm process cannon lake CPU to fix the non-yielding fab process ... especially the leading DCG or CPU architecture guys and circuit guys in MA site. those who like to rob the credits or to steal the innovation by adding the bad-smell spice for new dishes, should take the accountability.
This delayed the PRQ schedule, lost share to AMD, and sinking the stock price ...

those guys doing server SPR Xeon CPU paper in ISSCC 2022, owning architecture & design, should be fired first for doing so many stepping to fix problems (more tapeout stepping number than the notorious 10nm process issue of Icelake CPU). the server architects in MA (Fellow & DCG) should be fired, too. they have been robbing credits and changing good to worse for the past decade.

What server group? AMD has that line of business now.

The server group was already deeply “in trouble” regardless of anything Sunil was gonna do.

Oh boy, I find it super funny: before everything in 2018-2020 every manager I asked about RISC-V told me it's a toy not worth looking into and intel is so much better than this.
But then Sunil was hired from SiFive and suddenly intel is sponsoring a lot of stuff in RISC-V world. I.e. Ventana is using intel funds to make their cores with IDM. Thank God they have another one done with TSMC.
Did intel try to buy SiFive again after Sunil coming back? I bet it did. Did Sunil have any SiFive stocks left during this process? What are the odds Sunil would rejoin SiFive now?
Fortunately to SiFive they rejected. Again! And now look at their successes.

Pat hired Sunil back, thinking that he could help beef up server competition, only to find out things got worse together with Sandra. Letting him go is the only way. Sandra should be next. BTW, both were promoted and hired back by Pat. So, who should be responsible???

The Xeon roadmap is horrible at this point, and hopefully someone can fix.

Sandra, Lisa, Shailesh are not up to the task by any means.
