All the nonsense you read on this blog is just that, good ole nonsense and rumors so people have something to talk about! Otherwise, T would be just another boring company with zero input from employees! Rumors are the very least fodder for wishful thinking! There are a lot of people on this site that would love to be laid off and now, they're very disappointed that it didn't happen! I wonder why...!

750 on the chopping block. I see that someone else is also sitting on the throne where prairie dogs are released to the pool and just coming up with stuff to say. Come on Mr750 ? Can’t you come up with something better than that post? Can you at least google some fancy words to throw in the post and make it seem like there’s a smidgen of truth to your post? Ohhh I forgot you’re too obtuse and lazy to type anything of relevancy because you’re too busy nextflixing at work

Layoffs todsy at Dallas home office. Not techs. Must be off payroll Nov. 20. Building and Maintenance employees.

Yeah, that's all good and well, but Stankey still owes wall street $3B in cost savings in 2022. Where in the he-l is he gonna dredge up those kind of savings now that he has sworn off layoffs? It's looking like Stankey will have to renig on his committment. Something tells me wall street is not going to appreciate his welshing on this! Good thing he's not dealing with the mob. The mafia would make him disappear into thin air, never to be heard from again!

WOW, only 749 more to go! Wonder where the rest will come from? Not a chance in he-l that this was ever going to occur, never was, just wishful thinking on the OP's part! I guess whoever thought they were gonna be laid off will now be stuck with T at least the remainder of this year or even through next year!

SE surplus is was declared for one clerk in Miami, but nothing besides that. Legacy T has no surplus but did offer Voluntary Termination Pay for a couple of employees in Minnesota and South Dakota.

Very Interesting! Today is 9/15. What groups got repositioned ? Answer this question and you can do the smarty pants dance!

A layoff of this magnitude is very unlikely! I’ve seen a hundred here, two hundred there, but 750 bargained for employees, c’mon, you’re dreaming, not gonna happen!

No stock rise today. In the past, prior to a large surplus announcement, there would always be a rise in the price of our stock.

I would tell you but then they would have to ki-l me. Nothing going down as far as we know!

Enough of the nonsense, let's get to the meat of what this site is all about! Has anyone heard anything about pending layoffs prior to the announcement date of Thursday, 9/15?
Anybody with loose lips out there that might have some concrete knowledge of what's about to transpire tomorrow? Usually, by now somebody knows something, otherwise, it's just a bunch of phooey and the people on this site guessed it wrong as usual!

Doesn't mean T can't offer you an early retirement package just to leave! Perhaps, you can't be laid off by your contract, but an offer can always be made by the company to incentivize you to leave earlier than you might have planned!

750 is too low. We have lots of good opportunities for re-purposing them such as cleaning restrooms in our office buildings, buffing old Golden Boy to make him shine, plowing and salting the parking lots when it snows.... they might need some training upfront to sharpen their skillsets

Oh wow! I completely forgot about the getting fired every three months cr-p! With the stock sitting at $16.00 a share it’s amazing the company is still around.

Why such a low number?

Because 1st though 3rd lines don't want to believe their span of control will soon be reduced and will not be needed. Needs of the business, right? They are afraid of shopping their skill set in the modern workplace. Sorry, but it is what it is.

The only ones that have that in their contract are Legacy T, but they have a watermark. There’s nothing in the other contracts about restricting layoffs.

Sorry, T technicians are protected from layoff by their respective union contracts! Go pound sand!

They don’t repurpose them for areas where they are needed. Employees get surplused, and the only ones that go anywhere just bump a lower senior employee to keep their job. The ones getting bumped are generally sol unless they can find someone further away with less seniority to bump, but eventually there won’t be anyone lower senior.

company will need to commit to a contractor model for technicians, so folks get paid by the job instead of hourly. This is a model that seems to be working on the wireless side.

I don't believe this for anything! No way T will risk losing 750 technicians by trying to re-purpose them to other locations where help is needed. It's not easy to just pick up and leave when you are anchored down with family. Chances are slim to none that T will get more than 5% of the impacted techs to relocate.

I've been hearing for the last 2 years that lots of work is coming down the pike, yet it's still not here! Working around 15 hours per week and don't mind one bit! Kind of gotten use to it over the last couple of years! If there are no layoffs in my business unit, I'll be shocked! Part time work for full time is the new norm and T is OK with it, I guess!

“Reposition” them to my area. We have been on forced OT for the past 2 1/2 years. We have more work in the daily core load than we can keep up with.
