Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is Pat on a PIP?

At Intel, we love our data and celebrate data driven decisions. With this as the ethos of the company, and as a meritocracy, then shouldn't our CEO be on a performance improvement plan (PIP)?

Here is the data: according to SEC filings, Intel CEO Pat G. was paid over $160 million in the first year. Pat's first day as CEO, Intel stock traded in the $60s/share ($61+). Today, even with a US government's multibillion dollar "investment" via the CHIPS Act, Intel stock is trading in the $20s (~$29/share)! These are the facts.

This is Peloton type performance.

So ... what is going on with Intel leadership? Is there CEO level accountability for a 50%+ decline in stock price and a loss of of $100 Billion in market cap? If anyone anywhere should be on a PIP, how could it not be Pat?

If stock price is measure of a successful CEO, then BK would be a great CEO for pumping up the stock price. Pat is doing the opposite. He's increasing employee's compensation, not laying people off. Not surprisingly, profit and stock price is suffering. He's a good CEO for employees, but not shareholders. He's betting that the heavy investment will pay off several years from now. Anyone who knows the semiconductor business should know that this business is cyclical and it's not fair to measure his performance based on the down cycle. Even NVDA stock is down 50% from its all time high.

Don't talk that way about the messiah.
He has returned as was foretold.
He will save this barren forsaken land.
At the very least he can turn coffee into wine.

@OP - LOL! Your post made me actually laugh out loud!

The adage "he who has the gold makes the rules" is how it really works at INTC. So clearly PG isn't held to the same standards that applies to ICs. Heck, the whole "meritocracy" thing is a fraud, just look at all the incompetent manager that were promoted for repeated failures. Look at all the promotion in AXG mgmt, especially on the Windows driver team. Special shout out to ST that went from a bad SLM to a truly awful VP!

Not exactly news that for management, there's ZERO accountability, been that way for at least a decade. That's why schedules slips, products are uncompetitive, and we ship MVP (Minimum Viable Product) that stinks.
