What was the message to dealers at the dealer meeting in Las Vegas? What is the reaction from dealers?

hahaha lol!

"Dealers allege Mercedes hatched a secret plan in 2016 to switch to an agency model, undertook a sham consultation process, and pushed forward with a decision despite the majority of Australian dealers being against it. "

Looks like dealers got some of their own treatment. Good for them.
I like how now they feel betrayed and sue while their customers are betrayed daily knowing full well they don't have any protections.

The agency model is good for customers, is all it is.

All this shifting is going to shutter any mom and pop stores left. Unfortunate, as I always had the best car buying experiences at them.

Thing is, other motor companies doing the same. Mercedes is already in lawsuits in Austrailia over the agency model shift. Hyundai has been very strict with their dealers over the Genesis line, and a lot of them won't be able to sell them.

I am going to guess. Dealers are like bring it on Jim. They don’t care. Most of them own multiple brands anyway and the general customer is a rube. Warranty, parts and service are just part of the game. I can’t recall which of our past leaders said “Our quality is so good the dealerships will be converting the service bays to showrooms “

You would probably have to go thru the archives to find that one but I suspect jimmy and his buddies have burned all the old stuff cause you can’t learn anything from the past.

Nobody is too big to fail. Kodak, Kmart, jc penny, sears and IH are few that are gone.

The reaction from this potential vehicle purchaser is that I won’t be buying any Fords. With the warranty recall issues, where will owners go for repairs if there aren’t dealers with service centers? I’ve owned my last Ford.
