Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No one wants to stay here for long

I've only been here for a few months and I'm leaving soon. I am really fascinated by those who have managed to stay here for many years. Perhaps it was possible for an employee to stay here longer because this used to be a much better workplace, but I wouldn't say that Sam's will ever be able to attract such loyal employees again, even if the company wanted it. I think it will be increasingly difficult for them to keep an employee even for half a year?

It changed because the country is changing. Stop letting the country "progress" in the way it is and get back to old school values and this wouldn't be an issue. Sam's Club has been mirroring states like California. Wake up.

We also used to have cookouts with a big spread of food and drinks , full sheet cake just the works. Also in the break room a cake for Birthdays every month. Now days nothing so sad because it was fun working here it was work but I worked in the bakery and we had good laughs everyday to get through. The people working here now just want a paycheck while hiding or on there phones taking extra long breaks& lunches it's pathetic ...

30 year associate —- I get asked all the time how I lasted so long. Frankly, I don’t know what to tell people anymore . The company I once loved and was devoted to has changed into a vast wasteland of lazy managers, team leaders who have no idea what it is to actually lead their associates. Years ago our leads would teach and train people… that is no longer a concept . Just hiring bodies now . I stay now because I am 2 years from retiring and hoping I can last that long. I wish the company would go back to their original core values. We used to have so much fun working there… managers would have cookouts for no reason … just to say thanks for the hard work. Now it is just work work work . Guess they just want drones now . So sad what this company has become

15 year associate. My store has devolved into a third world country. As soon as I hear back from any promising job opportunity, I'm gone. It does sadden me, because I still love the "nature" of the work very much. It's why I'm still there. But still......

It's all nothing but red tape wielding management being dictated to by the King of England (Arkansas)

Sam’s club once had managers who could use common sense!!!!
Sam’s club gets rid of good seasoned managers for air heads, vaping every chance they get!! Plus they think titles like Team Lead produce leaders:(( just another group of self centered air heads, who feel elevated by their fake title to get them to do managers work!! Sam’s club just stinks from home office all the way down!! So glad I left after years!!

The club had managers that knew the business and cared. Now we have managers and MITs that are young and have no clue what to do. They are trained to walk around with their phone or sit in the office. The young ones will fail or the club will, mark my word. We have a huge turnover at the club I work because they expect way too much for the amount of people we have , there's no thank yous for working hard , only work harder and faster to get more done . Anyone thinking of a management job or a part time job.... do not even think for a second Sam's clubs is a good idea.

It used to be a great place to work it was almost a fun place. everyday when the shift ended the manager would tell you before you left, thank you for your work today! they used to tell us how much we mattered and how much of a family we were. We were always signing get well cards to our fallen comrades whether we knew em or not. the company would send flowers to the hospital or to your home if a relative died. we would have cookout's! and parties for no special reason but to reward us. but that was many years ago. you know what i hear daily now? The Needs of the company..blah blah blah. and Instant Termination!...Blah blah blah, we are watching the cameras!
