Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

If you don’t believe the merger rumors, go check who has been looking at your LinkedIn.

Here’s a hint, it’s Chevron.

Jokes on all y'all or yuz.
This is all a setup for near-term Nationalization of the US O&G&C bigs.
Some kind of upcoming 'emergency'.

DW is fine with it, btw. He got his nut.

I’ve noticed a significant amount of EM gas stations in my area changing names to Shell. I bet this is EM divesting or selling assets for the merger

Has any changes under Woods over the last 5 years worked? Everything this MC has done has gone bad.

I also do not think any large merger would be approved by the current admin. All past mergers led to divesting smaller, less profitable assets. Why would any regulator support that?

My guess is EMTEC loses 75% headcount, upstream and products become separate companies, similar to the MRO/MPC model. Upstream picks up a smaller player and products continues to consolidate into the 3 big sites on the gulf.

Who knows. I’m just another id--t taking Friday off.

I see plenty of merger related posts that are still up.... Doubt Exxon could influence this website anyways.

If it were a paid distraction they wouldn’t have be removing replies in real time.

This post has to be a "paid distraction" by XOM. Of course other companies are looking at ExxonMobil employees. It's well know we are a sinking ship and the good people are trying to get out. Nothing to do with a merger. And even if there was a merger being considered - no one is looking at CL 34 and under linkedin profiles - Mergers operate at a much higher level than that.

If you have good skills and good profile, you will get hits from traditional IOCs (including XOM) and beyond…

@OP That might have something to do with the huge numbers of Exxon employees who have been applying for jobs there.

Matter of fact, Exxon employees are applying pretty much everywhere, including a lot of REs who keep posting about how they’re not moving on because they supposedly love their jobs.
