Having my own real office as an intern and then as a new employee. Having a real admin assigned to me. Subsidized lunches of good quality. Real, engaged supervisors and managers. Top notch travel services and travel policy. Respect from my friends and neighbors for where I work. Raises which always beat inflation. Downplaying of the ranking system due to controls. Going from one good assignment and role to the next. Matrix organization which felt like you had a home within the Company.

My own desk.

Apparently providing a dedicated desk for each employee has become beyond the ability of the largest oil company in the USA.

Pathetic and insulting.

The trash cans bro.

After they removed them I had to add janitorial duties to my workload (taking my trash to the kitchen).

All the money you don't get now when you go on expat.

If I had kids there would be no way.

@aqp Obama doesn’t make business decisions at Exxon. Blame the executives who all happen to be major Republican donors.

Where to start on the expat benefits. Much less generous than before. The young people haven’t a clue on what they missed out on. Considering time value of money I am lucky to have invested a huge haul of expat cash wary in my career. Sitting on millions now. Couldn’t recreate that today that is for sure.

The health insurance used to be waaaaaayyy better. I don’t know if it is the company or Obama’s fault. Either way it costs a lot more now for worse insurance.

The education reimbursement that would pay for an MBA at a top school. The new program is far less generous. We sure did lose a lot of people when the old program was active though. Maybe instead of cutting the program we should start paying competitive wages.
