Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

ex-CEO John Chambers is taking on his former company with new networking startup called Nile

Nile is being led by Cisco's former development chief Pankaj Patel and was co-founded by John Chambers, who spent two decades as Cisco's CEO.
The startup promises to run networking infrastructure for wireless connections at offices, and can save companies up to 50% on their costs.

Nile: Brought to you by the same huckster that ruined Cisco. JC should stick to selling bugs as food.

Nile never really did show up on the radar. Haven't heard from a single customer or partner considering it or even heard of it. What would be hilarious is if they did get traction with network-as-a-service, then sell it back to Cisco.

Nae! Nothing to worry about. I had the pleasure to work with/for those bozos now in Nile. They are just a bunch of liars who can talk and eat but can't deliver. They are not after Cisco. They are after the investors in Wall Street. By the way, another half of those bozos are in Thoughtspot which is another failure.

JC and his MPLS gang are the reason why Amazon AWS, MSFT Azure and Google GCP are trillion dollar companies.

I guess John has brought home a lot of money from Cisco. It is ironic to see him to support companies to compete against Cisco. Will you do it if you were in the same situation?

Considering Chambers was in favor of "spin-in's" and the team of MPLS did it multiple times under Chambers, why wouldn't he do it? He's expecting it to get bought out by Robbins. Chambers is still defending the practice of spin-in's saying that it was successful.

Well, at least it's something better than selling crickets as food.

Chambers took Arista to court for the same thing. Cisco need to file a lawsuit against Nile.

I just hope Chambers won't sell it to AMD anymore, Lisa Su gave China CPU technology so China now can manufacture their own CPU. Not enough for home use but good enough for military use.

Successful in what sense? He sold Pensando to AMD for $2 billion.

How many of JC's post-Cisco startups have actually been successful?

I can't think of any.

Don't worry I'm sure Chuck and his woke ELT are prepared to combat this. More budget cuts to BE's, expense restrictions and will hire on some more diversity staff under Frans org.
