Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

The company's comeback

I would like to see Intel get back on track. With such an arrogant leadership, unfortunately, I don't believe that will ever happen.

How likely is it that Intel has a strong comeback? What miracle would have to happen? Perhaps someone out there is more optimistic than I am.

The wireless business was doomed to begin with.

Some German engineers lacked the basic social skills to collaborate with anyone, specially lacking in the upper level management. It is a culture of conformity rather than innovation. Racism makes conformity the highest priority rather than result oriented professionalism. They were sold off by Infineon to Intel, Intel then sold them off to apple. Give apple a few years and they will sell them off to whoever is willing to buy this garbage.

As of yet it has been 3 years and they couldn't come up with a viable modem for apple. Apple is still using Q modem. With the way things are going apple will still be sourcing the q modem for years to come.

The best return for shareholders would be for Intel to close shop and build condos on the Santa Clara site. That would be the first profitable investment the company has made.

They also tend to hire the wrong senior executives. Good example is MR, who completely ruined the wireless business and led to its shutdown.

Until Intel fixes its hiring bias, it will not never get back on its feet. Indians hire Indians, Bangladeshis hire Bangladeshis, People hire their own family members. The hiring process from top to bottom is corrupt. Thats why you have an influx of employees who just wants to half a-s their way to a paycheck.

Once a company lost its lead, it is extremely difficult to comeback. Look at Motorola and Nokia.

Comebacks only happen in Hollywood movies. Once firms fall behind in innovation, there is no recovery.
