In this Forum we hear about how bad or hostile some places are (look threads below).
Are there places where people are happy, Culture is good and management is actually doing a good job?
Upstream asset teams across globe not named Uncon.? (Like Guyana, PNG, Canada, ?) LCS ? Any of the refineries or chem plants?

Sakhalin used to have a great culture...sad to see it go.
Labarge Labarge Labarge. I do miss it.
Stay out if EMTEC , especially Annandale, snake pit, and top of DW’s chopping block, wasting money daily here, what we do best…
H-Chemicals is fine. Always has been. Hard work but ultimately rewarding. Culture is open and pretty fair
BRCP is actually pretty good, we do have a few clowns who think they are HiPO or are Toxic (Infra) but outside of that it’s a good place to work.
I can’t imagine any sane person thinking this place is good unless they aren’t in engineering or sp group. Maybe it’s a newbie.
BTC is great. Growing part of the company. SLT, HR, and S&D all proactively working assignments for us to displace US workers. More focus on opportunities and career path than other parts of the organization.
BTCP is a good place to be
Have to laugh at the recommendation for Dallas Treasurers. Yes there are plenty of good people in Treasurers. There are also several rotten apples at the top, and even if some of them are nice guys (no gals it seems), they follow DW's and TG's orders to protect their RSUs and EBUs. Even some of the lower-level execs in Treasurers saw the gaslighting when JS got on a "leadership" call and told everyone that 90% of the PIPs pass - the PIP is for their own good!
But even if you don't care about any of that - there is no career path for Treasurers anymore. The function has shrunk into irrelevancy. Go look at the Treasurer's org chart and see how many seats are actually available for promotion if you perform well. Go look at the Upstream Treasurer's relationship with the Upstream business line - they ignore everything he recommends and basically don't even give him a seat at the table now - how is that for "impact"? But he still gets paid his million a year while the rest of us get 2% raises.
So maybe a few Treasurer's managers are less dysfunctional than average - but they're still subject to the same problems as the entire org.

@OP Not in O&G
If you want to see people who aren’t always miserable, go into an industry that is growing, not one that is in decline.
You might also join a company that has a younger workforce. Younger people are, in general, less cynical and bitter. They hold fewer prejudices too.
the robot dog always looks pretty upbeat
Treasurer’s especially Dallas is really good culture wise. Only a few bad apples, but most folks are very nice.
My friends that have left to build wind power say the culture is great.
Also, the ones working at Amazon are very happy.
Both say it’s night vs day from how toxic the corporate culture was here.
Culture is bad in EMTEC. It’s a miserable place to work.
LSC have several oily HiPos or wanna be HiPos. Watch your back there. You will also learn nothing there if you are looking to grow marketable skills.
Chemical is OK.
However a single toxic manager or co-worker can make it a living he-l anywhere.
I’m in heritage Chemical Global Business Unit - on campus. Very happy.
