Can I just be left alone to do my job? Is that too much to ask for and too much to expect?

My bo--r and I would also like to be left alone, unless someone can come and relieve it.....in that case feel free to join me.
If you are tired of the games and politics, then support Newson in 2024. He will for sure make PIPs illegal.
@OP Then don’t work in an office, or find another office that doesn’t have politics.
Better yet, focus on your job. Works for me.
Why not move to Tibet to become a yogi master, single status.
Maybe you should start your own company, then you can work alone.
Why don’t you leave? The grass in green just over the next hill.
Well said. What makes technical people good at technical work has nothing to do with meetings and office politics.
No. Yes and yes. What you have to realize as an individual contributor here is that you have many people waiting and watching for your work. Many peers want to claim any success you have as partly theirs, mentors, leads, advisors, etc want to claim it to demonstrate their leadership skills and supervisors and managers want to assign an embellished value added to the Company to roll up the line. If any of that bothers you, go work for a much smaller company.
Yes. Next question?
