It's nothing new. Another term for this is "managing someone out". While it's most likely illegal, it is almost impossible to prove.

This has happened in many companies and industries for years. It's not new at all. A lot of employees don't realize it's happening until it's too late.

I am the OP and I am not in UK. Going by some other posts, this sort of stuff appears to be standard at Cisco, not necessarily specific to any geo.

This is illegal in UK , it’s classed as constructive dismissal….. if in uk I’d get lawyered up..
