Anyone else notice how doing less work, communicating with your boss and repeating what others say gets you ranked higher???? The competent people doing the actual work never get recognized and incompetent supervisors take all the credit

On the flip side, if you're just an IC it's equally possible now to do less work, but get paid the same and it appears risk no negative impact. Might not be any carrot but the stick is pretty flaccid too...
