Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

RIFs - how likely are they to happen soon?

If the market does not come back fast the opposite is going to happen - RIF.

I fear this happening, although I hope we avoid RIFs.

Fido tends to RIF quietly in specific departments in 2008-09 they finally Rif'd when they really needed to, they held off quite awhile but that was under Ned's tenure a very pro employee executive and Tuesdays were the preferred day of the week. With so many WFM that could be any day now. Good luck! They do rehire RIF's if there is a need FYI.

Unless you are in a client facing role, you should be ready at anytime to get Riff'd. October is the annual timeframe to get these people off the books by year end. Seen it happen many times over the years.

With the market getting hammered and a long term recession looming, look for RIF’s in October!!!

It’s Fido—of course there will be RIFs. It’s their m.o.
