Preparing for layoffs

Unfortunately, I think layoffs are inevitable. I'm anxious through the roof, especially because I can't get any other good offer.

Maybe someone has more insights about layoffs?
Who could be the biggest target group?
Any guesses how big the cuts could be?

I would strongly encourage you to keep going until you get out of there. TR is a toxic and abusive work environment and people who leave turn out much happier.

There’s no point in worrying about it, to the point where you’re worrying about exact departments and percentages. I’m a person who did well in school but was never able to translate that to professional success. Yesterday I googled a former friend. He was never a great student but has had three director roles. Why? Bc he had drive, common sense and provided value that translated to driving sales. He reinvented himself over 10 years and made moves. If you want it bad enough you can do it. Be useful to other ppl and organizations. That’s the secret.

We have them every year. Not even just Q4 anymore. There is nothing you can do to prevent it.

So, focus on what you can do. Update your resume and LinkedIn profile. Take a class to learn a new skill or brush up on current skills. Do some networking.

It's hard and stressful. Take care of yourself and hang in there.

Just had the conversation with my SO. Told them that I suspect they are coming too. Based on the worldwide recession fears and the lack of giving up profit margins it will happen.

As far as getting a job. It’s a numbers game pure and simple. I had to submit my application to over 200 different open roles before I got my job.

just blast it out everywhere that meets your minimum criteria and you will have a job in no time.

Almost everywhere is open to open roles. This allows you to work for a company anywhere in the world.

Look for places that can automate these job submissions for you. There are great services at a small cost.

I’m just staying here at the same time until they lay me off. Rather get severance than nothing

You can definitely get a good offer. Maybe not right away, but it will happen. Don't discount your skills and experience. TR sure as he-l isn't the end.

More change program cuts to cover bad C-Suite decisions. Will probably translate to riffs.

Layoffs have been inevitable at TR for many years. Why can’t you get another good offer?
