Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Field trips

As a worker, I found it's especially motivating to see our senior advisors and execs post pictures of all the conferences and field trips they're attending on the company dime. Wouldn't you agree?

Joliet is going through a process to change the management structure at the site. So a group of BTLs and DHs are headed to Antwerp and Rotterdam for 10 days to “learn”. GTFO! There’s no accountability for anything. Even worse these guys don’t even care about the optics of taking a trip when all the technology groups have to have virtual F2Fs instead of travel. There’s two ExxonMobils… one for the chosen and one for everyone else.

I particularly “like” the posts on LI about the meetings and field trips of the Geoscience so-called “leadership team”. A gang of parasites who have mastered to perfection the company lingo and have never done real technical work in their life. Their “technical experience” consists of looking over the shoulders of the actual workers and then summarizing the results in meetings with the management, who hails them as “experts”.

There is seldom any accountability or meaningful follow-up after attending conferences. Some people just like to travel.

I heard of a manager in EMTEC that traveled 4 days from US to Austria to sit in some digital garbage conference. This trip has costed easily $20K. There's no return of investment and no accountability whatsoever for this. Pure corruption.

The Indians are traveling to Europe and America. Also, management is getting on planes to Malaysia and India, to make the organization churn with all the "how great we are" presentations.

Company jets need to be well used to show good per mile capital utilization.

Man, I miss those trips. Business class everywhere plus 5 star hotels. Unlimited food and drink as long as senior guy paid. Company can write it all off Reaping the rewards of the black gold, as it should be. The Indians will be demanding same soon. Hahaa
